La increíble historia del barrio San Pedro Pescador.

La comunidad de pescadores artesanales organizados del Chaco es enorme.

Registrados y con credencial son 1.200, agrupados en siete comunidades que se distribuyen en 200 Km. de costa Chaqueña sobre el río Paraná.

Orgullosos, dicen una verdad evidente:…”somos la empresa mas grande de la provincia” y dan de vivir a los mas de 5.000 miembros que componen sus familias.

De la siete comunidades, la más importante se llama San Pedro Pescador y esta a la bajada del puente que une la provincia de Corrientes con el Chaco.

Desde hace mas de 30 años se instalaron allí, primero en  precarias chozas, hasta llegar a hoy, en que el barrio exhibe un orgulloso conjunto de dignas y modestas casas construidas en décadas de sacrificios y tenacidad de los pescadores decididos a mejorar la vida de sus familias.

Y no solo sus casas, sino también Escuela y Capilla, también construidas a pulmón y horas de descanso sacrificadas.

La organización social de San Pedro Pescador es un ejemplo para toda la región.

Cátedras de la UNNE – la Universidad Nacional del Noreste-, lo visitan, estudian y describen como un ejemplo remarcable, de la voluntad de las personas, cuando a pesar de las dificultades y carencias crónicas, intentan y logran crear un hábitat digno y seguro.

En San Pedro Pescador no hay espacio para la delincuencia, ni la droga ni la prostitución, ni ninguno de los flagelos que mortifican a lo largo y a lo ancho del país los asentamientos humanos.

Al igual que en los otros barrios de pescadores, solo hay espacio para la solidaridad y el trabajo.

Y son los principales defensores de la naturaleza y del manejo sustentable del recurso pesca, porque saben que hay que cuidarlo para que esta, la actividad artesanal mas antigua de la región, cuyo comienzo se pierde en los recovecos de la historia, antes de la llegada de los colonizadores, sea sustentable en el tiempo.

Extraen solo las piezas adultas de valor comercial y en las temporadas de veda son los celosos custodios del respeto a los tiempos necesarios para la reproducción de los peces.

Si bien estan en la geografía de la provincia del Chaco, se puede  decir que son Correntinos, porque en la realidad, por cercanía, son un suburbio de la ciudad de Corrientes.

El lugar que ocupan es un obrador abandonado, de la época en que se construyó el puente y que consiste básicamente en un terraplén consolidado, alejado del peligro de las crecientes, en un mirador de privilegio, desde donde se ve la ciudad de Corrientes y un largo trayecto del Paraná y sus meandros.

Y aquí comienza la historia que queremos relatarles.

Toda esta entrañable y admirable realidad esta siendo amenazada.

Los mercaderes de la corrupción han puesto su mirada en este entrañable rinc

on, para hacer un Casino, al que haciendo gala del cinismo que los caracteriza llaman: Centro de Entretenimientos de Antequerita .

No nos detendremos en describir lo que significa un Casino en términos de explotación de las debilidades humanas, el juego con sus nefastas consecuencias sobre los enviciados por él, y sus familias, y el entorno de corrupción que generan en su derredor.

La Lotería Chaqueña, gestora de estos capitales nefastos, primero quiso operar de prepo para expulsar los pescadores, pero inmediatamente de intentarlo, se dio cuenta que la gente iba a presentar batalla en defensa de su comunidad donde viven mas de 300 familias, la gran mayoría con derechos treintañales, y ofreciendo a la vista de todos un barrio ejemplar, de extraordinarias características, de vecinos organizados y solidarios que han logrado construirlo lejos de las agresiones a que nos tienen acostumbrados otros lugares de radicación urbana, con su escuela, su capilla y su centro de salud.  Lo único que no hay y es una muestra mas de las excepcionales características del barrio es una comisaría.     Y no hay porque no es necesaria: aquí nadie comete delitos.

Aunque ahora  ha aparecido un contenedor de chapa, donde hay, desde hace poco un patrullero,  no para defender el barrio, sino para proteger a los recién llegados, que asociados con el poder y la corrupción trabajan para destruirlo.

Primero los quisieron sacar de prepo y no pudieron, ahora estan tratando de torcer la voluntad de los pescadores de San Pedro Pescador, con mentiras de progreso y fuentes de trabajo, pero tampoco pueden engañarlos.

Entonces el poder ha apelado a toda su miseria moral para derrocar la voluntad de esta admirable gente.

–         Hace dos años envió a vivir al barrio, a un puntero político al que inmediatamente nombró Delegado Municipal, para tener un interlocutor cómplice y funcional a sus intereses, a pesar que los vecinos no lo reconocen ni respetan en esa jerarquía.

–         Este sujeto tiene a su disposición todos los medios de prensa: radios, diarios y TV, que administra el poder del Chaco, para mentir a la audiencia que “representa los vecinos del barrio que quieren el progreso del casino”.

–         El “Delegado Municipal” convoca a los vecinos a su domicilio particular, para extorsionarlos diciéndoles que perderán planes sociales y que finalmente se tendrán que ir si no apoyan el proyecto del Casino.

–         Ahora han citado a una Audiencia Pública, para aprobar el casino, que se hará este 9 de noviembre, pero increíblemente: a 30 Km. Del Barrio, para que los vecinos no puedan ir en forma masiva!.       Audiencia Pública donde los matones y mercenarios del gobierno de Capitanich irán a mentir que quieren el casino.

–         La Cooperativa de Pescadores de San Pedro Pescador, venía tramitando y había sido aprobado un proyecto financiado por el CFI, de construir un centro modelo de desarrollo de piscicultura, con Cámaras de conservación, sistemas de reproducción de peces, y criaderos en jaulas que iba a ser el salto final en los productivo y económico para los vecinos.

Pero como este proyecto hubiera significado la consolidación definitiva de la comunidad de pescadores, el Gobernador Capitanich, cómplice necesario de los intereses que se quieren apropiar del lugar, a principios de año le bajó el pulgar y le quitó el apoyo y los fondos al proyecto. fondos que ya habían sido otorgados y no se pudo hacer.

Ni tampoco la urbanización que docentes y alumnos de la UNNE habían planeado para mejorar definitivamente este paradisíaco lugar, cuyas maquetas exhiben orgullosos los pescadores.

Verdaderamente y una vez mas cuesta pensar que las personas a quienes se confía la administración de la cosa pública sean (y perdónenme) tan, pero, tan hijos de puta.

Sin embargo asi estan actuando aquí.

Pero no les será fácil, los vecinos de San Pedro Pescador estan en pie de guerra, pero de pacífica guerra.

A muchos les costará imaginar siquiera lo que les voy a contar ahora: La primera línea de defensa imaginada por estos extraordinarios seres humanos, es pintar las casas del barrio.

“Con Color y argumentos defendamos nuestro barrio” dice el eslogan con el que estan pintando los frentes de las casas para mostrarle a todo el mundo quienes son, su identidad cultural, sus raíces y su voluntad.

Y también se estan organizando y sumando solidaridades de todo el mundo, que ni bien se entera del atropello que se planea se suma a la resistencia de los pescadores.

The incredible story of  Barrio San Pedro Pescador.

The artisanal fishing community organized the Chaco is enormous.

In San Pedro Pescador no room for the crime or drugs or prostitution, or any of the scourges that mortifying the length and breadth of the country’s human settlements.
As in other fishing sites, there is only room for solidarity and work.
